How does this work?

What documentation do I need to collect the car?

Required for pick up:

Certain care rental suppliers in the UK may also require two additional forms of identification (i.e. utility bills).  Please note that all additional drivers must also produce their driver's licenses.  Further specific information regarding collection will appear on your car rental voucher.

If any of the above are not produced, the supplier may refuse the rental. 

Will my license be valid at my destination?

An International Driver's Permit is always the best option, but for most of our destinations, a notarized translation of your home country's license will be valid. Please contact a customer service representative with any questions.

What is included in the price?

Our prices are fully inclusive:

The only thing that will not be included is any extra accessories that you purchase (ski racks, child seats, etc.).

Are any other insurance options available?  How can I pay for them?

We also provide an option for a SDEW (Standard Damage Excess Waiver).  This waives any excess fees that you may be required to pay in the event of an accident.  An excess fee is similar to an insurance deductible - it is a fee that must be paid by the driver in the event of an accident.  By selecting the SDEW, your liability for this excess fee is waived.

Can I pick up and drop my car at different locations ?

Yes!  Domestic One-Way Rentals (pick up and drop off are in the same country) can now be booked online. In the search box on the home page of the holiday autos website, you can enter a separate pick up and drop off location. Please note that charges payable locally may be applicable, and will be displayed once you have selected the vehicle.

International One-Way Rentals (pick up and drop off are in the different countries) are possible but can not be done online on our website. Our team will be happy to assist you with booking an international one-way. 

How do I book accessories (GPS, child seats, etc.), and when do I pay for them?

Car rental partners offer a range of additional extras that are not included in your standard rental cost.  These include: child seats, ski racks, tire chains, GPS, etc.

At the booking stage of the online process (after you have selected which car you wish to rent), there is a sub-heading titled 'extras payable locally at time of pick-up'.  The cost will be advised there (although subject to change) but will be payable upon pick up at the supplier.

Child seats are mandatory in most countries, and they must be requested in advance.  If this is done at least 7 days prior to departure, their availability will be guaranteed.

Ski racks and tire chains must also be requested in advance.

Additional drivers to not have to be booked in advance, but charges will be displayed at time of booking and are payable locally.

If I book a child seat will this definitely be provided?

Child seats are mandatory in most countries and must be requested at the time of booking.  Although instructions will be provided, you will be required to fit the child seat yourself.  For older children, it is recommended that you take your own booster seats.  All child seats are on a request basis only.  If requested and confirmed by the supplier at least 7 days prior to departure, these will be guaranteed.

Can I take the care out of the country of rental?

At the booking stage of the online process (after you have selected which care you wish to rent), there is a sub-heading of 'important information'.  Under this section, locate the 'general restrictions' for you specific supplier.  This section will include whether the rental vehicle can be taken into other countries and if any additional charges will apply.  Please not that unless you have requested a one-way rental (i.e. pick up in one location and return to another) you will be required to return the vehicle to the original rental location.

How do I cancel/amend my booking?

In either case, before the scheduled departure date, you can send us an email atcustomerservice@holidayautosasia.com with your booking reference number with any changes to your booking that you would like to make.  You can also cancel or amend your booking by entering your reference number in the space provided on our homepage.

If you would like to extend your rental once the departure date has passed, you will be charged at the local supplier's standard daily rate, which will most likely be more expensive than our rate.  In the event that you must shorten your rental once the departure date has passed, no refund will be made.

What, if any, cancellation charges will I have to pay if I cancel my booking?

No refunds will be given for rentals ended early, for late collections, for no shows, or for cancellations made after the rental start date.

All cancellations must be made in writing and emailed to customerservice@holidayautosasia.com.

There are no cancellation charges.  However, if you fail to show up to collect your rental, you will be charged for the first 3 days of your proposed rental.

Do you guys take complaints ? Will you take care of my questions ?

Yes!  - and we take it very seriously, as our goal is to simply provide the best car rental service in the world. If you have now completed your rental and need  information, clarification on charges applied to your rental, or wish to make a complaint, you may well find the answers to your questions via this FAQ page. If not, you can contact our Customer Relations team by e-mail at customerservice@holidayautosasia.com  and we will be happy to investigate and resolve your issues for you.  You can also speak to a customer service representative by using our live chat by clicking the large green button at the top of the page!

If you do wish to contact Customer Relations, please remember that holiday autos acts in partnership with internationally based car rental businesses (suppliers), and we may be required to refer to them in order to fully resolve any issues.  We will aim to resolve your issues within a period of a working month, dependent on the conditions of the claim, the information received from all parties involved, and would therefore ask that you be patient until these matters can be resolved.

Once a complaint has been received, a member of our Customer Relations team will be in contact with you by phone, E-mail, or letter to request any further information and documentation that we may require in order to resolve your complaint effectively.  With this in mind, and if you have not already done so, please forward copies of your rental agreement, any credit card statements relating to charges, as well as any accident or damage reports, should this be relevant.

Please note that all holiday autos systems use our booking reference as our prime form of identification.  This is a 7 or 8-digit number stated in your confirmation email and on your voucher.  It would be helpful and save time if you could ensure that this reference number, the full name of the primary driver, and your zip code are clearly visible on all documents sent to us.

What are the local supplier's terms and conditions and how do they differ from holiday autos?

holiday autos acts as a broker and agent for various independent rental companies.  Bookings mad through holiday autos are subject to, first and foremost, our own terms and conditions.  These cover your agreement with us and will be provided with your rental voucher in addition to being viewable on our website.  Please not that the rental of your vehicle will also be subject to the laws of the country in which it is supplied to you, and for this reason you will be required to sign a rental contract with the rental company which supplies the vehicle.  You should satisfy yourself that you understand (and agree to) their terms and conditions, as you will be subject to and must comply with these terms as well as the local laws.

You can view local supplier terms and conditions, by destination, on our website at the end of our terms and conditions section.  These will be a combination of the terms and conditions of all suppliers for that particular destination and will show a range of prices you would expect to pay for additional extras charged locally in addition to other rental restrictions.

What if I have endorsements on my license?

This does not mean that you cannot rent a car, but call our reservations department at (+86)(0)10 87735726 to ensure that the car supplier will accept a booking with your endorsements.

How do I know if the local supplier is at an airport or not?

Locations will vary depending on supplier, but most will have a courtesy bus to their office if they are not directly located in an airport terminal.  Specific details of the location of your car rental office will be included on the rental voucher sent to you once you have booked.

I have a question that cannot be answered by any of the question in this section - am I able to speak to someone in person?
